. Not before time was the cry! Or I could 🚣 home?
Well I’m going home with a bigger smile than the one I brought here. And, going home with a three part strategy to try to get back to normal. First, a foot orthotic to correct the drop foot condition, second, magic tablets to manage nerve pain and third, some simple exercises to strengthen the muscles in my left leg. Re orthotic 👀 like this, made of kevlar and carbon
I am also travelling home with fancy Hugo Boss socks and underwear, budgie smuggler style, not going for any of this modern stuff. If I want shorts or pygamas I would not buy them in the men’s underwear department! And in addition, perhaps the coup de gras, a pair of Carlton Footy Socks!
Now on a watching brief, not a pun, and expecting the condition to be manageable and to gradually improve over the next few months.
Post script: now safely home and out and about – on the quad – checking a few things like cattle and water leak to troughs. May do a bit of teaching next week. Home for the rest of this week. Orthotic support – will need some time to get used to it but it is better for sure. Pain remains ‘shitty’.
