Learning to blog

The challenges in learning to blog are on many fronts. First, the tech stuff. How does WordPress work? Which buttons do what? Where to start? How to post? Then there is the writing; getting clear in my head what I want to say etc. How do I insert photos. Another challenge is how to link this blog to my facebook account.

Yes it is likely to be tricky. I will stick at it because in the end, assuming its working to my satisfaction it will be a way for me to tell and keep my stories. Some will be personal and reflective and others about what I see in the present. Of course, going forward, (what a shitty phrase) I will also make some sort of record of the odd travel adventure as they occur.

My travel adventures started as a small boy travelling by car, with my father from home in Heybridge to Hobart to visit my paternal grandparents. These travel adventures have gone on from then, a life with great jobs in and around school education, later in life decade or so of farming back on the Tasmania Northwest Coast and packed with travel.

Now a couple of photos to test the process. Yay!! Loaded directly from my iPhone! Presently using the 2013 MacBook Pro.

Let’s start with the present. In the photo below are three of the youngest family members, in August 2024 at Cullen Bay in Darwin. The stars of the photo are, Baxter Totham, youngest grandchild and Kyree and Bohdi Maclachlan, great grandchildren.
